STARTS 13 NOVEMBER
Make a sampler square that can be repeated or extended to make a cushion cover or a scarf or a whole blanket! Bring your own needles & yarn OR buy our handy KIT No 1 | LEARN TO KNIT. Our kits have starter sized bamboo needles and 100% wool yarn. You will choose your needles & yarn at your first session.
Classes are held on WEDNESDAYS, with a choice of morning or afternoon sessions. Sessions run for three hours. Our classes are limited to SIX PARTICIPANTS and you will have MIRRIE as your teacher. Our classes are held in The Watson Room | NEDLANDS.
Week 1 | Long tail cast on | Knit & Purl | Garter stitch | Stocking stitch
Week 2 | Ribbing | Moss stitch | Plain cast off
Week 3 | Picking up stitches | Hurdle stitch

Join us in The Watson Room for a special session on scarves. What size scarf is right for you? How do you create a good drape? Experiment with swatches to find your perfect style.
We have a range of designs suitable for confident knitters who are able to cast on and cast off independently.
Bring your own yarn and needles or choose from our selection. We have a wide range of bamboo knitting needles to use.

The 100% Merino wool in 4 ply is hand dyed by Kate Dunbar-Tapp, local Contemporary Fibre Artist and founder of THKYCo. Kate designed three distinct shades to complement the Autumn/Winter 2024/2025 fashion colour trends coming out of New York and London.

MIRRIE
Mirrie learnt to knit and crochet from her maternal grandmother, Miemie, starting when she was four years old. Her special interests are reversible textured knitting, including Shetland lace, and freeform knitting. Mirrie’s love of yarn and colour extends to dabbling with plant dyes.
Mirrie is a qualified teacher and she has a WWC.
